I am not a big fan of April Fools Day – I think it is pretty silly actually. I am happy to say no one has ever played an April Fools Day joke on me, BUT I do remember one that was played on my friend Stephanie.
Stephanie is a Realtor who was also a Consultant on my Party Plan Team. We were in Las Vegas for our annual Convention over the April Fools weekend so none of us were really thinking about what day it was. Stephanie was stressed to the max about a house closing that she was missing by being at Convention. Her husband called her and asked if she was sitting down. He went through an entire schpeel on how the house that was closing had burnt to the ground. Apparently her husband had gotten the Buyers in on the joke, because when she called them, the woman pretended to be crying on the phone and was “too upset to talk.” Needless to say, Stephanie was beside herself.
We were eating lunch at Bally’s when all this went down, and the whole team and I worked to console her over lunch. It wasn’t until about an hour later that her husband called to tell her April Fool’s. That was five years ago now, and if I had to guess, he is probably still paying for that one.
Anyway, today while Mike was watching SportCenter, they played this video, and I just loved it. This was a very well thought out joke that a new anchor played on his female co-anchor. This has to be one of the all time best April Fool’s Day jokes ever:
Have you ever played an April Fool’s Joke, or been on the receiving end of one?
