It’s cake… wait, no.. its candy…. it’s Cakedy.
Last month I had the opportunity to try out Cakedy – “a unique blend of your favorite homemade cake whipped into a nougat and covered in a rich candy bar shell.” In a word… fabulous. Cakedy began in Minnesota by two friends with a simple idea:
Our story is a simple. We liked candy bars. We loved cake. We combined the two. We started a company! We wanted that company to reflect our personalities. Good times and laughter. So in addition to an awesome candy bar you get a free joke with every order. Chances are it will be corny as heck, but you’ll laugh or smile for a second and your day will be a little better because of it.
Sweets are not really my “thing,” but the “Choco Chocatus” could change all of that in an instant. At first I thought it was going to be just a piece of cake covered in chocolate, (like a cake pop bar or something) but as if that wasnt awesome enough, the whole “nougat” thing takes it to a whole new level. The cake on the inside is so gooey and moist, it is so much better than I expected. Think double-fudge brownie… and then make it a million times better. Then cover it in chocolate. Then you kinda get how good it tastes. The flavors are very rich – so I actually ate mine over the course of a few days, stealing a nibble here and there when I wanted something sweet. It was truly the best “candy bar” I have ever had.
The girls loved the “RedHead” – a strawberry/cream cheese bit of fabulousness. There is also “Vanochocolate” and “Peanutter” that you can order directly from their site Cakedy.com. Each box comes with three 2.5 ounce Cakedy bars for less than $3. You can also win a $50 AMEX Gift Card just by posting a picture of yourself enjoying Cakedy’s right on their Facebook Page!
