I never was a big video game fan as a child. I had a Nintendo, and I played some – but nothing compared to friends of mine who could literally sit for hours trying to get Mario to defeat Bowser, or helping Link slay Ganondorf to rescue Princess Zelda. Instead you would find me out swimming in the bay, collecting seashells and harassing hermit crabs.
Fast forward nearly 20 years and Nintendo comes out with the Wii – which to this day is still way up on my list of all-time favorite inventions, ranking closely behind the iPhone. It was never the “gaming” part that didn’t interest me… it was the just sitting there part. And the Nintendo Wii solved all of that – giving the perfect way to play fun games but on your feet… how can you beat that?
The Just Dance Collection has been our favorite series from the Nintendo Wii, and we own literally every single one of them – buying most of them on the first day of their release. When we were given the opportunity to try out the brand new Just Dance Kids 2014, I nearly jumped through the computer. And I wish I had a camera rolling when I pulled the game out of the envelope it was shipped in – I am pretty sure Midge’s squeal was heard across the street.
Just Dance Kids had the #2 best-selling dance title and the best-selling kids dance game of 2012. Now, the coolest dance experience for kids is back! Just Dance Kids 2014 is now on Wii™, Wii U™, and Kinect for Xbox360! Featuring over 30 fun and crazy dance routines to kids favorite songs, including hits from today’s most popular artists, TV shows and movies. Just Dance Kids 2014 gets kids of all ages up and dancing with colorful graphics, super-fun dance moves, and kid-friendly gameplay!
The girls have played for hours on Just Dance Kids 2014 – and even I enjoy rocking out to the music coming from the living room… that is when I can hear it over their laughter. With hit songs like One Thing by One Direction, Hit The Lights by Selena Gomez, and Give Your Heart A Break by Demi Lovato, the girls know every word already from the radio and not only bounce around and dance, but sing along too since the lyrics are right there on the screen. The Wii lets you play with up to five players for a full on dance party right in our living room. Even Mike gets in on the fun.
Check out the girls playing this morning – they had already played for so long they were pouring sweat.
We absolutely love this game and have played almost every day since receiving it. I want to get a heart rate monitor so I can see how many calories we are burning while bouncing around and laughing hysterically. (Trust me when I say the girls are WAY more coordinated than Mike and I are) This is the kind of video game I can get in to, AND I feel great about the girls playing it as well. It is like “Exercise in Disguise.”
You can pick up your own copy of Just Dance Kids 2014 at your local retailer and get your whole family up and moving this holiday season.
