So my friend Trisha had the idea today to do an old school blog hop where we all posted five things you would learn about each of us simply by walking through our homes. I decided to jump in and had fun taking pictures of the things that I get to see every day – but probably take for granted. Here is my list – hope you enjoy!

There is no way you are getting in or near my house without learning about Indi – the Resident Guard Dog – and my youngest “doghter.” Dont let her 3.8lbs size fool you – her bark in pretty intense. In fact, pair the barking with the hardwood floors and you see her own version of Moon Walking. Indi is very much my baby and has been through a lot with me in her short 6 years.

When you enter our home and the Guard Dog finally calms down, you will become blatantly aware who really is in charge here. Unless you have a bead or something they can bat around for hours on the 2300 square feet of hardwood floors… We rescued these babies back in March and they have brought more joy and laughter into our home than we ever thought possible.

Mike is totally obsessed with sports. I mean obsessed. He can rattle of statistics, tell you where most of the NFL grew up, and don’t even attempt to play the man in Fantasy Football. I love the head game of most sports so I have enjoyed learning a lot over the last three and a half years. Our home is a nice mix between elegant statues… and the NFL. We like it that way.

I easily match Mike’s sports obsession with my candle/warmer obsession. Mike claims I can smell the food on tv – so I constantly want something smelling fantastic going in the house at all times. Each warmer has its own scented stuff in it so I normally have only one or two going at once – but every time someone walks in they say how great it smells in my house. I think so too.

Honestly, nothing stresses me out more than clutter in my house. I dont know if I would call myself a “minimalist” but I am not an “I might need this some day” kind of gal. I love throwing things away. The girls know if they leave toys in the Living Room, they will be in the trash by morning. I just cant stand to not have everything put away. (Rollie’s tennis ball is on the list if he doesnt move it by morning…)
That’s pretty much it. Thanks for taking a “walk” around my house with me. What would I learn about you if I walked through your house?

I always knew you were a candle freak and a neat freak. You would go nuts in my house with the girls. They leave a mess everywhere. If I’m too tired at night, I might leave one too…but then I have to deal with it in the morning and that starts my day on the wrong foot
So I clean…
My office has been cluttered since the Christmas in July …. its been driving me NUTS. Plan for tomorrow – Operation Declutter LOL I get soooo anxious around clutter. I am a major Feng Shui lover.
man, I wish I could keep my house that decluttered. Our 3 cats get in the way though
Clutter is my middle name LOL, but not on purpose, just lack of time and to lazy to put things in their place.
OMG I would love to have the uncluttered house that you have. My husband thinks if there is a bare spot on a flat surface, it MUST have something on it. It drives me crazy. I put his bag of Reece’s Peanut butter cups in the pantry, that is less than two feet from the sofa, and he couldn’t find them. Grrrrrr.
Your animals are adorable!!
Your house – it is so clean! I’m jealous of that fact right there. But your decorating is beautiful – even the sports memorabilia seems to fit in with the overall feel!
dang lynsey, those cats got HUGE!!! What are you feeding them?
Cake pops?
trisha
Can you can spend time at my house and deal with my clutter? I hate it but find it overwhelming to deal with it.
You are in FL, right? What’s with the TX teams?!
I need you to help me learn to declutter! (Well, and we need a bigger house!!)
LOL about that clutter…I too see clutter as something that has to go – and I too toss toys that aren’t where they go, but God Bless me – it’s like I can’t get away from it. I’m not a “maybe I’ll need this one day” kind of person either, but Allen is. He wasn’t raised by hoarders, but by boomers – children of the children of the depression and their parents taught them to save everything and that got passed down to Allen. I can’t tell you the amount of Coax in that garage. I think you will see that nothing hangs on the walls that isn’t personal to our family. You will find pictures of the children abound, Allen’s Plank Owner certificate, an artistic rendering of his last ship before leaving the Navy, a black and white portrait of Robert E. Lee which will tell you that we have connections to The Civil War. You won’t need to walk through the door to hear the dogs LOL I’m pretty sure you could hear them from the street. You’d see that it’s summer in this house by the evidence of kid chaos here (well and the weather) and you’d see that I appear to be the most disorganized person in Georgia because I have 30 small fingers constantly relocating everything. And if you picked up the remote – you’d see that I have more recorded on my DVR than I’d ever be able to watch – EVER. Which would also tell you that the TV is mostly on for background noise. It’s a work in progress and I’m ok with that. My friend Mark Bolton once asked me “how do you have 4 kids and a messy house” um….because I have 4 kids.
I love how organized your house is – I am so jealous! In my head I’m that clean….now if I can just get my body (and my kids) to follow along.
Your pets are adorable!
Your home is very pretty, love all the candles!
I think candles always add warmth and coziness to a home. I can’t stand clutter either but I live with a hoarder so I close my eyes when going past his sections of the house.
I wish my house was clutter free. I try so hard and it just gets cluttered all over again:(
I totally agree with you! My house is clutter free! I consign, e-bay, or donate allll the time. My boyfriend of 17 year’s on the other hand is a different story!! Your house looks great!! floor’s look AWESOME!!! candles I love em….. I use airwick plug ins and glade….boy those things are soooo expensive!!!! It’s a job to keep a clutter free, clean floor, no pet hair, clean counter top house! But you are there girl!!! Kudos to you!
I love your guard dog!! We too have a nicely decorated house with random footballs and sports memorabilia too.
Wow. No clutter. That was… well… a little unnerving. I’m looking around my house now. Guess I’d better get busy. But, where’s the cat hair on your wood floors?
Tiny Guard Dog and Cats In Charge. Funny how normal that is. Just gotta laugh.
This is fun, isn’t it!
Our house is SO cluttered and it drives me insane! I have a hard time throwing things away though, I have sentimental attachment issues! You Indie is so cute and love your kitties!
Oh my goodness! I wonder what you’d be able to do with our home!?! LOL Your home is gorgeous and your pets are adorable. Great post!
I have guard dogs too LOL hardly
Oh, please come to my house. You can throw anything away you want. Have at it! I need someone to be ruthless in helping me with my clutter problem.
Wow your house is very uncluttered! I wish I could do that…ok I know I “could” I wish I WOULD do that
