WOW, I have missed TWO LWW!! EEKS!! Let me see how quickly I can do a recap of the last three weeks!!
I had my surgery on Monday June 20th and was released from the hospital feeling great on June 21st. They sent me home with enough percoset to euthanize a bull I think, because I barely remember being awake the first two days. I do remember my mother in law coming over and cooking a full Mexican spread for dinner… I absolutely LOVE it when she does that!
Thursday I began feeling better and started moving around on Thursday, but by Saturday I started feeling pretty crummy again. I was VERY sore, and would get flashes of pretty intense pain. I spent most of the weekend in bed.
Tuesday I woke up and began vomiting – so I headed in to the hospital where they gave me some major antibiotics and told me to come back the next day. Within about 3 days I was back to feeling human again.
On Friday I jumped in the car to go spend some time with my grandmother in Clearwater, Fl. We had a relaxing weekend as I still was not 100%, but did venture out to hhgregg for my birthday present on Saturday, and then to church and a baseball game with Granny’s church crowd on Sunday. We had such a good time, and the fireworks show they put on was just breathtaking – probably the best fireworks display I have ever seen.
Monday we went down to St Pete where I got to see my aunt and uncle who I haven’t seen in nearly a year. My Uncle Mike and I spent the whole time talking about cameras. He too is a Canon
lover user and is really a talented photographer. It was nice to connect with him on that, as we have never really had anything in common in the past. It was a delightful visit.
Monday night I cooked dinner for the family and my other aunt and uncle came over, plus my one and only cousin came by with her husband and daughter. (one of these days I am going to get her blogging more lol) We enjoyed just being together talking and laughing at our newest addition to the Jones crew. I must admit, it was hard to hold her and play with her and know I was never going to have another little one of my own again.
Then my Dad brought out the iPad, and we were all entertained:
(picture NOT taken with my new Canon Rebel T3 – saving those for later! 🙂 )
We headed home early Tuesday morning and I got a great night sleep right here at home. I woke up today feeling about 90% and hit the ground running with work. It feels SO good to be “BACK!!”
I think that is it! I have lost 5 pounds since I weighed in with the surgery, which surprises me since I feel like all I have done is lay around for two weeks! HA! But I am very very excited about getting into shape now that my medical issues are over. I have no more excuses now!
How have your last few weeks been?
