Well, I actually have TWO weeks to catch up on, as last week I was traveling from Pensacola to Orlando to attend Spark & Hustle – the event that will forever be known as the “Convention that Changed My Life,” (but in a good way) and I forgot to do my update once I got there. I spent most of the prior week getting ready for Spark and Hustle – spending THREE SOLID DAYS at Office Depot. Yeah, I know. Tell, me about it. While I was there however I discovered a couple ways to make my time much more effective, and was able to explain to the girl there in a way that I *hope* to never have to spend another full day in their copy center… we shall see.
On Wednesday my BFF and I drove down what seemed like an absolute eternity trying to get to Orlando in time for dinner with some of the S&H attendees that I met via Twitter. I was so excited though as one of the ladies was the actual owner of the Card Cubby – one of my all time favorite business tools, the other a Success and Life Coach who was absolutely hysterical. I totally plan to hire her to coach me, as I need someone with that kind of carefree energy. Later another bombshell arrived – a Social Media Strategist who was just amazing. The five of us never made it to dinner (we couldnt stop talking long enough) so we sat in the hotel bar sipping Pinot Grigio until 2am laughing like old friends. It was awesome.
I wont totally let the cat out of the bag, as I will be blogging in MUCH more detail over on my business blog, but the four days of Spark & Hustle were absolutely amazing, and a total “game changer” for me. I was honestly pretty “stuck” in my life – kinda just rocking along without any real sense of drive or direction, and S&H really shook me out of that and got me fired up again.
I am not sure yet WHAT changes I will be making, but it was a great way to really show me how unhappy I really was being “stuck.” I am not someone who settles and who can stand mediocrity, so it will be interesting to see what all gets “blown out of the water” in the next few months. Tory Johnson made me realize I was living “comfortable but unhappy” and challenged and inspired us ALL to get out of that. I used to be a Rockstar, and I let life and idiots get in my way, and I have been beating myself up for it ever since. Like that is going to do any good. I realized there that it is HIGH TIME I start practicing what I preach, and just knowing what to do is not enough – I have to actually DO it.
SO – the last 2 weeks were spent first getting ready for what I thought Spark & Hustle was GOING to be, and then the second week was realizing that it was not what I thought – it was EXACTLY what I NEEDED.
