If you are a child of the 80s like I am, I am certain you remember the craze of “Pound Puppies” – a toy line created by Tonka which had a variety of plush stuffed dog dolls with floppy ears and droopy eyes. I know that I had at least 20 puppies myself, and even had close to a dozen Pound Purries – the kitty version of course – since my Mom was allergic to cats, that was the closest thing I was getting to a kitten.
Today, March 6, 2012, HASBRO and Shout Factory are releasing a new DVD with five top episodes from the Pound Puppies Series plus a bonus feature – Learn How To Draw Lucky. The DVD release marks the North American home entertainment debut of Hasbro Studios’ hit show.
The Pound Puppies are a team of fearless dogs whose sworn mission is to find homes for lonely puppies. Even though they look like regular dogs, these pro-active pooches match up pups with loving families fulfilling the mantra of a pup for every person and a person for every pup—all while they keep the humans at Shelter 17 clueless. Sometimes dogs are dogs’ best friend!
