Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition on Blu-ray 2/7/12

I GOTTA get a Blu-Ray player now!

One of the great classics…more glorious than ever in dazzling Disney Blu-ray High Definition – Just in time for Valentine’s Day!

A classic love story unfolds in the best Disney tradition as a lovely young pedigreed  cocker spaniel named Lady, who lives a pampered life, finds herself falling romantically  for Tramp, an amorous street-smart pooch without prospects. Although they have fun  together on several dates, including a sentimental spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony’s restaurant, their relationship is strained not only by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude that eventually gets Lady in trouble and tossed into the dog pound. However, good-hearted Tramp redeems himself by saving the baby from potential harm and thus wins Lady’s love and the affection of her human family.

Share this timeless Disney Classic with your family as Walt Disney’s beloved classic,  Lady and the Tramp, finally releases from the Disney Vault for the first time ever on Blu-ray. This heartwarming tale now charms a new generation of families and fans with its exquisite animation and unforgettable songs in one of the greatest love stories of all time.  Featuring high definition sound and immersive bonus features your family can enjoy together, Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition is a must own addition to your Disney collection.

And now for one of the BEST love scenes in ANY movie… Bella Note… and yeah, it’s ok if it is stuck in your head the rest of the day…

Finding Nemo 3D In Theaters This Fall

One of my all time favorite Disney Pixar movies is Finding Nemo.    I have probably watched it a hundred times, and know most of the dialogue by heart.   Ellen Degenerous was absolutely fantastic and I have followed her ever since the movie came out originally in 2003 when it won the Academy Award for the Best Animated Feature and at the time of its release was the highest grossing G-rated film of all time.  I – as well as just about everyone I know – has since called every clown fish “Nemo” and every blur tang “Dory.”  Not to mention we have all channeled our inner Crush with some “dddduuuuuddddeeeee…”

On September 14, Finding Nemo will be back in theaters – now in 3D!  Check out the newly released trailer:

Academy Award®-winning Best Animated Feature “Finding Nemo” returns to the big screen for the first time ever in thrilling Disney Digital 3D™. In this stunning underwater adventure, with memorable characters, humor and heartfelt emotion, “Finding Nemo” follows the comedic and momentous journey of an overly protective clownfish named Marlin (voice by Albert Brooks) and his son Nemo (voice by Alexander Gould)––who become separated in the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo is unexpectedly taken far from his ocean home and dumped into a fish tank in a dentist’s office. Buoyed by the companionship of Dory (voice by Ellen DeGeneres), a friendly-but-forgetful Pacific regal blue tang, Marlin embarks on a dangerous trek and finds himself the unlikely hero of an epic effort to rescue his son––who hatches a few daring plans of his own to return safely home.

Now I have been annoyed lately that ALL movies seem to be going 3D, but this one I am totally excited about.   Although I am fearful I may need a Dramamine to get through some of the scenes, I am totally excited to get “into the ocean” with some of my favorite characters.

Oh… and I am sure my girls will want to go see it too.

Check out Finding Nemo on Facebook for news on the release between now and September.

The Help Movie Trailer

Actually, YouTube has it listed as a Featurette…. how snazzy is that?

The Help is a book-turned-movie coming to theaters August 12, 2011.  IMDb summarizes it as:

A look at what happens when a southern town’s unspoken code of rules and behavior is shattered by three courageous women who strike up an unlikely friendship.

The movie features Emma Stone (Easy A), Viola Davis (Eat, Pray, Love), and Octavia Spencer (Seven Pounds).

Storyline

Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter (Stone) is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends’ lives — and a small Mississippi town — upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Davis), Skeeter’s best friend’s housekeeper, is the first to open up — to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter’s life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories — and as it turns out, they have a lot to say. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say themselves when they become unwittingly — and unwillingly — caught up in the changing times. I am really excited to watch The Help, as I am always a sucker for movies where women actually STICK TOGETHER and support one another.  As I have said over and over I think the World would be a different place if women lived by the Girlfriend Code and stopped tearing each other down.

Anyhow, I wanted to share this with you, and also point out that even in my post-op desperation to find good books to read while I am practically bedridden, I will NOT be reading this on my beloved Kindle iPad App.  The last two books I have read that have been turned into movies, I have been so turned off by the book, I have refused to see the movie.  Something Borrowed for its blatant disregard of the Girlfriend Code, and Water For Elephants – who wants to see that kind of animal cruelty on a 300×213 foot Imax movie screen?!  (even if it does have RPatz in it!)

Anyhow… here is… the “Featurette” for The Help, in theaters August 12, 2011:

Are you planning to go see it? Have you read the book?

*UPDATE*

I gave in and downloaded it because I was so excited to see it I just couldnt help it  – IT WAS FANTASTIC!!  I am so glad I read it, and it has made me even MORE excited to SEE it!!
