Share a Haircut Now Through Wednesday!

*UPDATE* The Share – A – Haircut Program has been such a great hit, Hair Cuttery has extended the dates to August 22nd!  Click over and Share a Haircut!!

With only one week left of Summer (can I get a woohoo, Moms!?) my girls are in a frenzy getting things ready to begin the first day of school.   We have spent hours shopping for clothes, getting the perfect school supplies, agonizing over the right shoes… and of course, the “perfect haircut.”  We all know that the first day of school is a BIG DEAL, and a fresh hair cut can go a long way with helping any kid to feel more confident and relaxed heading to class.

Your local Hair Cuttery Salon has a program that I just love going on now through Wednesday called Share a Haircut – which gives a free haircut to a local child in need for every kid’s haircut given at one of their salons between Aug. 1 and 15.  Over the past twelve years, Hair Cuttery has donated more than 625,000 haircuts to children in need through partnerships with local non-profit agencies.   Last year 11,500 hair cuts were given to kids right here in Florida with the help of agencies like Kids First of Florida, Department of Children and Families in Gainesville, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Heartland for Children, Child Net, Child and Family Connections, For the Children Inc., Childrens Network of SWFL, and United for Families.

You can even Share a Haircut online with the Hair Cuttery Facebook App – simply share on Facebook or Twitter to donate a haircut!   It’s that easy.  I pulled my girls in here to show them how to donate and it was a great opportunity to talk to them about school starting and the importance of being nice to everyone regardless of their appearance.  Naturally they both rolled their eyes and said in unison “we KNOW Mom”  but still, you can never say it too much.. right?!?

Please excuse me while I go have a glass of wine realizing I have just turned into my mother…
