Two Amazing Artists – Two Amazing Perfumes

In the last few weeks I have had the privilege to try two hot new perfumes from two hot, well known music artists.   Lady Gaga’s “Fame” and Fergie’s “Viva” are both so delicious smelling it is impossible for me to pick a favorite.

lady.gaga.perfumeNow, most of you know I am not a fan of Lady Gaga, and often refer to her as “Lady Gagme” however… she really nailed this perfume.   “Fame” is the first ever “black liquid” eau de parfum – “black like the soul of fame, but invisible once airborne.”   The fragrance collection includes the parfum, soap, body lotion, roller ball and shower gel… all of which I have now ordered.

Lady Gaga’s Fame Perfume has hints of Tiger Orchid, Apricot, Saffron, Honey and Incense to give it a scent as unique as Gaga’s own style.    It’s powerful yet sweet.  I absolutely love it.  The Lady Gaga Fame is priced at $55 for 1.7 fl oz.

Fergie 2The second perfume I was able to try is from Avon – Viva by Fergie – which is actually the third fragrance Avon has carried by the famous pop star.  The new fragrance is advertised as fearless and daring with the slogan “Live by Your Own Rules.”  Now, I have worn Outspoken, the first fragrance in this line since 2010, and can not tell you how many compliments I have received.  Viva also has an accompanying body lotion and shower gel.

“Feminine. Empowered. Unconventional. Viva by Fergie is a sexy contradiction of captivating cool herbs spiked with fierce lavender and intriguing vetiver. A fragrance for women who want to live life on their own terms, inspired by one of today’s most empowering women, Fergie.”    Viva is very different from the original “Outspoken” collection – this one being much lighter and more floral.  It is a perfect scent for Summer…. yes I ordered that whole set as well.   Viva by Fergie is at an incredible price point as well – something we all know and love about Avon – with the 1.7 fl oz retailing for only $30.

Of the two perfumes I absolutely can not pick a favorite.  Fame is bold.  Viva is flirty.  Fame is sophisticated.  Viva is fun. Fame is sexy.  Viva is romantic.  Fame is perfect for night time.  Viva is perfect for daytime.  Ahhhhh…. PERFECT.

Trident Gum #Giveaway #SWULive

80s bands afro jack, duran duran, drake, aviici, lmfao, nicki minaj, rave music, deadmau5, skrillex, steve angello, steven aoki, best streaming music, free music, swedish house mafia, techno music, tiesto, music top 10

Ever since I quit smoking 6 years ago, I have been hooked on chewing gum daily.  And with having two daughters – one of which is 13 years old – gum is a STAPLE in our household.   So when Trident sent me  a YEARS SUPPLY as part of the See What Unfolds Campaign, my girls and I thought it was Christmas early!

Now, I am a “boring” gum chewer – pretty much I am going to choose the peppermint flavor EVERY time.  My girls on the other hand love it all and were most excited to try some of the new “Trident Layers“  where they have put together some of the craziest mish-mashes of flavors you could even imagine… I mean, who thinks of blueberry and tangerine -TOGETHER?!

But… that’s what they do.  Trident is known for mixing things together to “See What Unfolds” – like when Steve Aoki and Duran Duran partnered with Trident for an unforgettable surprise -

Adam Levine Breakup

It is no secret that I have a love affair with Adam Levine.  My ringtone has been his part in Stereo Hearts for months, and my friend Natalie and I spent weeks trying to track down a UK Cosmo with his Cancer Awareness ad(be still my heart) In fact if you look at my Pinterest boards I have a “My Favorite People” which is 85% Adam Levine.

So today when  my friend Danielle posted this on my Facebook Page, I had to check it out:

According to PEOPLE, Adam and girlfriend of two years Anne Vyalitsyna have called it quits.   Though an official reason has not been given, the story has been confirmed:

“Adam and I have decided to separate in an amicable and supportive manner. We still love and respect each other as friends. I wish him all the best,” the Victoria’s Secret model also known as Anne V said in a statement Monday (April 2).

The couple met in 2010 when Maroon 5 played at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Release Party.   Earlier this year Adam told Howard Stern “This is the longest, most functional relationship I’ve ever been in, I don’t want to screw it up.”  Adam Levine has been known for being quite a player, but sources say he was settling down.  The pair looked to be doing great recently at the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show when Adam serenaded Anne on the runway, so the news comes as a surprise to most.

I can not find any word from Adam’s rep – and I hope that is just because he is busy and not broken hearted somewhere.  With his rising fame as one of the judges on The Voice, I have no doubt he will have a new beauty on his arm very very soon.

Until then I will just continue to swoon… I can just feel less guilty about it now.

To Convert… Or Not…A Garage Door Saga

Last week when I moved into my new office, I fell in love.  For so long I have had my “office” in one end of our master suite (it’s one of those long rooms that spans practically the whole back end of the house – but still, it was in viewing distance of my bed) so it has felt wonderful to have my own “space” to work.   Before we made this move I had been lobbying to convert our two car garage into one large office.  With Mike being in the automotive business and me being someone with a lot of “stuff” in the garage, I thought it would be perfect to clean it out, spruce it up, and put both of our offices in there.  Mike did not agree.

My idea seems perfect – to remove our residential garage door and put in a solid wall where it was.  We could put windows and such in the wall to give some lighting, since there are no other windows, and even put a Bay Window in for a nice place to sit.  Or we could even remove the door, fill the wall half way, and put a smaller commercial garage door in so he could still accept the larger deliveries without having to drag them through the house.    I could still have my window, and he would still have his home garage door.  Seems perfect right?

Mike thinks that it will take away the resale value of the home to convert the garage.  He thinks that having a 2 car garage is a better selling feature than having the three bedrooms plus an enormous (and beautiful – cause you know I am gonna have to decorate it) bonus room that can be used as a den, game room (Mike also has a fooze ball table, poker table, and video game), wet bar, or an office.  I just don’t agree.

I am still trying to get Mike on the bandwagon of converting the garage – even if not for an office, for a game room or “bonus” room -  but at least me having my office for now takes the pressure off some (although I think he is a bit jealous at how awesome it is.)   We need some garage door repair work done… maybe I can convince him then.

Have you ever tried to convert a garage?  Or do you live in a home with a converted space?  Did having/ not having a garage sway your decision to buy your home?

Mike is always right… help me win this one!   ;)
