“Zarina, you’re the most inquisitive fairy I’ve ever known. Correction: its a tie. Let’s just say you are the Tinker Bell of Dust-Keepers.” ~Fairy Gary
On April 1st Disney will release The Pirate Fairy – their newest edition to the Disney Fairies collection. While I was in LA last month I got the chance to not only preview the film, but also get the first look at all of the awesome Pirate Fairy merchandise that will soon be hitting the store shelves. From toys to books to purses – and of course princess dresses – Disney has yet again outdone themselves with The Pirate Fairy must have goodies for kids of any age.
From the world of Peter Pan comes The Pirate Fairy, a swashbuckling new adventure about Zarina (voice of Christina Hendricks), a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who’s captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and its endless possibilities. When Zarina’s wild ideas get her into trouble, she flees Pixie Hollow and joins forces with the scheming pirates of Skull Rock, who make her captain of their ship. Tinker Bell (voice of Mae Whitman) and her friends must embark on an epic adventure to find Zarina, and together they go sword-to-sword with the band of pirates led by a cabin boy named James (voice of Tom Hiddleston), who’ll soon be known as Captain Hook, himself. Enjoy the laughter, heart, magic and thrills of The Pirate Fairy.
Most important on the “must have” list is of course the movie. Now, I have to admit, since my girls have gotten older, I have lost touch a bit with Disney fairies and princesses (although Midge has watched the Secret of The Wings about 8,000 times) however, sitting in The Pirate Fairy screening made me fall in love with these little fairies all over again. Each one of them has such a fantastic personality – I can see my friends in every one of them. Rosetta is hysterical – she reminds me of my friend Cayce. Silvermist is my friend Kim. Oh, and I want a friend like Iridessa – fell in love with her too.
The Disney Consumer Products Collection will be available at all of your favorite stores – from Target to JCPenny to Walmart to Amazon. I was excited to see that they have items that even my teenager would go bananas for. Like… we are so going to fight over this bag.
But this little guy really stole the show. I won’t give away how this little dude plays a part in the movie – but let’s just say Olaf has some competition in the cuteness department.
I can’t wait to own my copy of The Pirate Fairy to show my girls and sport some awesome Fairy Gear. I will also have more cool stuff from my trip to LA coming soon!
Who is your favorite Disney Fairy?
Disclosure: I received review items in compensation for this post, along with a trip to Los Angeles and a preview of the film. All ideas and opinions are my own.
