I do not cook. Well, not well anyway. (There has been more than one occasion where a Fire Extinguisher was needed.) There are maybe four or five things that I make very well, all of which take at least an hour to make. Since I seldom have an hour prep time, and I love my family too much to make them endure me cooking anything else, we eat out…. a LOT. This has been great for the Tween, whose “job” at the house is to do the dishes, but has not been very good for my and my Hubbly’s waistline.
I was complaining to my good friend and best-nail-tech-in-the-Southeast, Sheree, and she said that she has been doing the Eat-Clean Diet and loves it. Now, let me begin by telling you that “diet” is a REAL four letter word around here, and not one that gets muttered often. However, the more Sheree spoke about it, the more it seemed like something I could do… as long as the fire extinguishers are still under the kitchen sink.
So I am embarking on a lifestyle change this time instead of just a “diet.” It is time for us both to get into better shape. We have been “talking about talking about it” for months now. I think with all of the changes we have going on, it is a good time to make our health a priority. (so that we can keep UP with all of the changes!) This time is different too because it is the first time I have had Hubbly’s support.
I am going to call this section “Whining and Dining” though, because it is going to be hard for me to A- cook, B- not just go the “easy route” and go out to eat, and C – stick to something that is foreign to me. But I am looking forward to it. I have downloaded all of the books to my iPad, so I am am ready to start shopping! If you want to join me on this journey of Whining and Dining, grab or download the books and let’s do it!
Oh, and in case you are wondering… a glass of Moscato has 127 calories… and yes, I will be factoring that in.

Good Luck Lynsey, I have the opposite problem I like to think I’m a pretty good cook which has the same affect on my hubbies waist line. I would love to cook healthier but hubby hates veggies and salads so it is very hard.
I will be changing my life style here, I need to get my butt to the store and get some veggies and fruit. Think with winter being here and it so cold I’m going to be making some soups and freeze them.
I have a really easy Chicken Soup Recipe if you want to try it , I don’t think it can be messed up!
