Saturday was the official start of Summer 2014, and though we have been battling major thunderstorms here every.single.day this week, the girls and I did get a chance to fire up the grill for one of our favorite Summer meals – hotdogs. I received the Wieners Gone Wild Cookbook to review and try some of their amazing hotdog concoctions. Hotdogs may never be the same again…
What’s more American than apple pie? Hot dogs! Accompanying every barbeque, ball game, or picnic, a hot dog is more than just meat in a bun—it is an American pastime. In Wieners Gone Wild!, you’ll find dozens of mouth-watering, irresistible recipes starring the classic dog in a tasty and surprising 21st century makeover.
The Wieners Gone Wild Cookbook has recipes in it with ingredients I never would have even thought to pair with a hotdog. Caesar Salad… on a hotdog?! Oh yeah. (Why should pizza have all the fun?) Cheese grits on a hot dog? Hey, don’t knock it till you try it. Sweet potato fries? Why not. They even have Weenie Rangoons.
But hotdogs isn’t the only thing you will find in this cookbook. There is also an entire section on how to make your own condiments and hotdog buns. How cool is that? Midge wants honey mustard on ev-ery-thing so I cant wait to try the recipe out. Plus there is a recipe for cornbread buns… why didn’t I think of that!?
The girls and I did the “Cowboy Up! Dog” from the cookbook. It was delicious. I made it a bit “healthier” – making my own homemade turkey chili – and every single one of them was gobbled up in minutes. In fact we even ate them again the next day – with no whining about “leftovers” – I call that a total win.
If you are tired of eating the “same ole dog” or looking for a way to spice up your next barbecue, order the Wieners Gone Wild Cookbook today. Its available in hardback or Kindle edition from Amazon. You will never think of hotdogs the same.
