"Baby's" First Hair Cut
Ok, she isn't a baby.
She really isn't even a toddler anymore like I have always called her on this blog.
If you ask her, she will tell you... she is "medium."
But she is MY baby.
In Preschool last year Taylor took scissors to her hair. Not much, but one lock of curls that was "in her face" she snipped right off. (I wish her father would learn to fix her hair already) The teacher said as soon as she did it, she began to cry, realizing she could not just "glue it back on." I promised her that when she was in Kindergarten, I would take her to the salon to get it cut. While we were in Texas she remembered this promise.
I was so afraid that when we cut it, she was going to lose all of her curls. The Tween and I have such pencil straight hair, I love that she has curls! They do not show as much here since we had her hair in a ponytail all day, but she can curl up like Shirley Temple. She said she didn't care, and wanted it cut. I had after all made a promise.
The lady did fantastic and Taylor stayed still the entire cut. She even asked if she could have "bangs" so her hair "would always be fixed." What a little Diva I have.
In total she cut about 5 inches off. She then layered it and cut in around her face. It took a little while for her to get the hang of smoothing her bangs down and not brushing them to the side, but we absolutely love it!
Guess this means I really don't have any babies anymore....
Oh yeah... and after we got it wet one time, her curls came back.... big time.

When I was a kid, my hair was curly like that too! She's such a cutie (just like her mama). Maybe in a few years, she'll let you call her your "baby" again.
