Now, I might be a bit biased, but I can not think of any other place I would rather live or vacation than my home state of Florida.  We offer absolutely everything anyone could ever want – from amazing food to phenomenal attractions to sizzling nightlife.  But I admit, even I don’t know everything there is to see and do in Florida, which is one reason I was excited to receive – and even get to give away -the DK Eyewitness Travel Family Guide to Florida.

FamilyGuideFlorida-Cover

DK Eyewitness Travel: Family Guide Florida offers the best things to see and do on a family vacation to Florida, from navigating the thrills of the Disney World and LEGOLAND theme parks, to seeing manatees on the St. Johns River and fishing in the Keys, swimming at the best beaches on the Panhandle, or exploring the thrills of the Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral.

Perfect for parents with children ages 4 – 12, this guide presents all the practical information families need to make the most of their time in the state: kid-friendly itineraries and age-range suitability, budget-friendly places to stay and eat, detailed easy-to-use maps, and more. Plus, Kids’ Corner cartoons, quizzes, fun facts, and stories bring each location to life.

DK Eyewitness Travel: Family Guide Florida will help parents plan vacation activities the whole family will remember for years to come.

When this book arrived I immediately flipped to Pensacola to see if there was anything cool that I have been missing… and there was. Not to mention there were some really cool “little known” facts… or at least little known to me.  Did you know Pensacola got its name from the tribe of Native Americans that lived here when the Spanish Explorers first arrived in 1559?  It was the Panzacola Tribe.  I had NO IDEA.

I also flipped over to where we will be taking our “Secret Family Vacation” this year.  I can’t tell you where yet, as we havent even told the girls, but be on the lookout for that video next week.  Needless to say I have added about 15 things to our itinerary that week just simply from the little book.  I am stoked.

The whole book is full of great ideas of places to go, things to see, and places to eat, along with tidbits on history, culture, and secrets of the different cities.  I was caught up for a good hour just flipping through it.  And I am so excited to get to offer two of my readers their own copy of the DK Eyewitness Travel: Family Guide Florida so whether you are planning a family vacation, daydreaming about your next trip, or maybe you just love this state as much as I do, you can learn everything there is to know about our little slice of paradise!

Florida is a big State which means that there are numerous places to go for vacation trips and other enjoyments. Aside from that, they also have a rich culture and history that is so interesting to learn about.

We live in Florida and there are no end to staycation, daycation or vacation destinations. We just got back from a week long beach trip on Englewood Beach, FL. Early this summer I had the opportunity to vacation on Okaloosa Island - Ft. Walton Beach, FL. We frequently cruise from Port Canaveral and live in Central Florida where there is no shortage of things to do but I think the next thing we'd like to do is take the kids to St. Augustine to take in all the history.

Florida offers a lot of fun things to do and beautiful sights to see for residents and visitors alike. There are a lot of attractions, theme parks, animal parks, museums and more. There is definitely a ton of fun in the sun when you want to spend your vacation in this place. Another thing is there are many vacation rental properties you can choose from if you don't want to stay in hotels.
