This morning Mike and I were laying in bed doing our normal “what should we do today” routine when Mike noticed that there are NINE showings of Ghost Busters at our local theater. A little digging and we discovered that today is actually the 30th Anniversary!
Yeah… let that sink in a minute.
This week in 1984 the world was introduced to Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and of course Slimer and Marshmallow Man. It quickly became a hit with their tag line “Who ya gonna call?” and has continued to be an iconic part of the 80’s – still selling everything from bumper stickers to Halloween costumes every year.
Select theaters will be showing Ghost Busters (“restored and remastered”) on the big screen this week only. You can check Fandango for all of the participating theaters and times. Mike and I are going today and may even take the girls later this week. We have both watched the movie no less than 100 times at home so we are super excited to get to see it at the theaters. It has always been one of our favorites. Mike even got to meet Ernie Hudson last year at Pensacon. SUPER nice guy.
