Juice that is.
In the last few months Mike and I have made some pretty significant lifestyle changes – one of which is eating more “clean” meaning we basically do not eat anything out of a box, jar, or can. It is amazing how in just a few months I feel like I have literally taken years back from my life – having as much energy and flexibility as I did when I was in my early 20s. (not to mention the amount of weight I have lost!)
When I was first introduced to Naked Juice I fell in love with the concept – using simply what Mother Nature gave us – no additives, no preservatives, no fillers and no sugar. Just “naked” juice. The Orange Mango has always been my favorite – with oranges, mangoes, apples, and a hint of banana -and it’s loaded with Vitamin C.
There are 24 flavors in all – including three new ones – Mango Veggie, Reduced Calorie Citrus Lemongrass, and Reduced Calorie Lychee. (please make me feel better and tell me that you didn’t know what a Lychee was either!!) I had the opportunity to try the new ones and I have to say – the Orange Mango has got some competition!
The Mango Veggie is pretty thick, so almost more of a meal than a drink. With mango, carrot, sweet potato, sweet corn, apple, chickpeas, lemon, and butternut squash, the Mango Veggie is like eating the entire buffet section. And since few of us get out recommended daily allowance of vegetables, this is a great way to make up the difference without having to “eat your greens.”
The Reduced Calorie Citrus Lemongrass has a very light flavor and texture… and is amazing. It is so sweet you would swear it has to have sugar in it. But with only oranges, apples, coconut water, and a hint of lemon, it is a great way to quench you thirst… in only 100 calories.
My new favorite however is the Reduced Calorie Lychee. I have never even heard the word “lychee” before, but I am so glad that Naked Juice knew how awesome it is and turned it into a smoothie! The Reduced Calorie Lychee includes a lychee fruit, coconut water, peaches, mangoes, oranges and apples… also at only 100 calories. It is also “bursting” with Vitamin A which is good for your vision, immune function, bone metabolism, and antioxidant activity.
You can find Naked Juice Smoothies at many different grocers using their online locator system although I know that my local Publix carries it and it is not showing up in the search. I hope to soon see Naked everywhere I shop. It is a great way for me to have a drink “on the go” that is so “clean!”
