Perfect Portion Pizzas

Published: Oct 26, 2012 · Modified: Dec 22, 2019 · This post may contain affiliate links

You may remember last week when I posted about my "Perfect Portion Pizzas".... that disappeared.  Thankfully they were delicious enough that no one complained about me making them again so soon.

I saw the commercial for making these little biscuit pizzas from Pillsbury - but you know how that goes.  How good are they really?!!  So often I see "delicious, easy" food on TV and... well... it doesnt look/taste like that when you actually try to make it at home. (save the terrible chef jokes - I was featured in the newspaper this week for cooking... I expect a call from Emeril any day now...)  So I decided that these I had to try out for myself.

First let me tell you - I don't even like pizza.  Not the way the rest of my family does anyway.  And pizza doesn't exactly fall into the "Eat Clean" category.  But there are times when I get a craving, and nothing else will do than a hot, cheesy, veggie-filled pizza.   With my Perfect Portion Pizzas I can get my "fix" quickly and easily, and because they are the perfect size for portion control, I don't even have to feel guilty.  I call that a win.

Perfect Portion Pizza

Ingredients

  • Pillsbury Grands Biscuits - original
  • Pizza sauce of choice
  • mozzarella cheese
  • mini pepperonis
  • toppings - we used bell pepper, onion, black olives and mushrooms

These Perfect Portion Pizzas are as easy to make as they are delicious - perfect for someone who doesn't really know her way around the kitchen.  First thing you want to do is peel the Pillsbury Grands biscuits in half - they actually come apart quite easily.

Then arrange your "halves" on a non stick baking sheet - I chose to use my Pampered Chef Stone which was perfect since it kept the biscuit crust nice and soft.  Smear desired amount of pizza sauce on your biscuits - I actually do not like a lot of sauce, so I loved that I was able to make some of me with very little sauce, and the rest of the fam got to pile it on.

And then top with your favorite pizza toppings.  I love that I got to have my own toppings on my little pizzas. Since I like mine piled high with veggies and Mike prefers more meat - while the girls want just cheese - we are able to all get exactly what we want.

Bake your little Perfect Portion Pizzas at 350* for about 16 minutes - or until the biscuits are done and the cheese is bubbly.

Enjoy!~

I love me some pizza but I love me some Pillsbury biscuits too. My problem is I can't just have one slice - total diet killer. I can't wait to try this out!

Yum! We have done something similar with english muffin halves when my daughter has sleepovers. I think the biscuits would taste better since they rise up and bake, instead of the prebaked english muffins.
