The holidays are finally here! ‘Tis the season for hot chocolate, fuzzy socks, and your favorite holiday movies… but it is also the season for sniffles, sneezes, and sore throats. Just today I logged on to my weather app and a huge popup appeared showing the “SickScore” for our area… I was not thrilled. Nothing puts a damper on the holidays more than feeling puny, so I have already begun stocking up on all of our “Stay Well Essentials.”

Tips For Staying Well During the Holidays
Make Sure To Get Enough Sleep
The holidays are a stressful time – even for the little ones. Between the stress of school, weather change, holiday travel and simple break in routine, making sure everyone in your house gets adequate sleep is important to make sure everyone stays well. Our daughter has always been a good sleeper, but the excitement of the holidays and the pressure of exams at school sometimes lead to a later bedtime than usual.
Wash Your Hands Often
Whether you are using hand sanitizer or just a good antibacterial soap, make sure you are washing your hands often and thoroughly. With my girls we would get our hands good and soapy and then sing our favorite song – ABC’s, Twinkle Twinkle, etc – to make sure we washed long enough to kill as many germs as we could.
Get Exercise Daily
I will be the first to admit that cold weather makes me want to hibernate like a grizzly bear, but it is important to keep yourself moving this season to keep you feeling – and looking – your best. Winter is a good time to try out some new at home workouts like pilates or yoga.
Drink Plenty of Water
Just because it isn’t crazy hot outside doesn’t mean it isn’t just as easy to get dehydrated. Make sure to drink plenty of water to help keep your mind and body hydrated and functioning its best. Add slices of fruit to your children’s water to encourage them to drink more while getting added vitamins and minerals.
Keep Pfizer Pediatrics Products on Hand
Sometimes “Sick Gets Real” no matter what we do, so keeping some basic products on hand will help get your little back on track fast. The pediatric brands of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare offer three solutions – Children’s Advil®, Children’s Robitussin®, and Children’s Dimetapp® – to tackle even the ickiest of symptoms. We keep Children’s Advil® Suspension on hand for aches and pains and to reduce fever fast but the Children’s Robitussin® DM Day/Night Pack is our go-to to help break up chest congestion, relieve coughs and runny noses so that she can get the rest she needs.
