Today Midge and I headed off for our bi-weekly trip to Target and as usual barely made it in the door before our cart was half filled with items from the $1 Spot. One of the things we found were the special “Be Mine Mix” Tic Tacs for $1 a piece. We also found adorable little cello bags with twistie ties in the $1 Spot… and an idea was born.
Midge and I have made all kinds of fun Valentine's over the years – from our Melted Mosaic Crayon Hearts to the Hershey Kiss Lovebugs to Blow Pop Posies – but these were by far the easiest and quickest. Within a half an hour we had all 18 made for her to take to her class party on Friday. Valentine's cards done four days ahead of time?! I call that a win.
The only thing I needed that we did not find at the Target $1 Spot was the Tic-Tac-Toe Game Board – which I quickly made up just using PicMonkey. I wanted to make sure it was printer friendly (i.e. – didn't use a ridiculous amount of ink) and fit into the little cello bags without the edges getting bent up. We printed our Printable Valentine's Day Tic-Tac-Toe Board on cardstock and carefully cut them out. Then in each little cello bag we added a game board and a container of Tic Tacs. We sealed the back with a small piece of tape – but you can use the twistie ties to close them. I just wanted to make them easier to carry.
Do you love them as much as we do? You can make your own by picking up goodies from your local Target and using our free printable below. Enjoy!
