Having a teenage daughter has been one of the most fun eras of my life - and I am being serious. I am so blessed to have a daughter that is smart, fun, and has a great attitude... about 99% of the time. I dont know if the "Terrible Teens" just never kicked in with her or if we just arent quite there yet (she turned 14 this Summer) but either way I am loving this time in our lives.
As I have shared before, The Teen has "moments" that are similar to "blonde moments" but well... we are all brunettes. So we dubbed them "Sami Says" moments and I have shared them with you before here and here - just in case you need a few more laughs.
This Summer has been full of Sami Says Moments and I wish now that I had written every single one of them down. This week we had two that I remember... enjoy.
Mexican Oil
Sami: Can we go eat at that "Casa Oil" place?
Mike: Casa Oil?
Sami: You know - that place we always passed on the way home from school last year? The Mexican place?
Me: Casa OLE?
Sami: Its pronounced "Oh-lay?"
Mike: You took Spanish for an entire year and didn't know it was "Oh-lay?"
Sami: They didnt teach us bull fighting in there....
Mike: *facepalm*
For The Love Of Candy
Sami: Mom, if you had to learn another language other than Spanish, what would it be.
Me: American Sign Language - I have always wanted to learn.
Sami: I think I want to learn Italian.
Me: Its a sexy language. But when would you use it?
Sami: Like... when I go to Greece.
Me: *blank stare*
Sami: Oh wait - they speak Greek don't they?
Me: *bust out laughing* Yes baby, they speak Greek - another beautiful language.
*a few moments of silence*
Sami: Maybe I should learn to speak Swedish... that way I could go over there and order chocolate and Swedish Fish in their "native tongue..."
I nearly had to pull the car over I was laughing so hard.

Oh gosh that's funny. My son has now started having real conversations with me and he says the oddest things. It's real interesting how kids view and think about things
