Last week when I discovered Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies I could not wait for the Toddler to get home from school to let her listen! Andrew Peterson and Randall Goodgame – who has also written songs for Veggie Tales another fave! – have put together a collection of fun, toe-tapping, lesson driven lullabies that parents will love just as much as the kids. With fun titles like “Chicken Wiggle” and “Bears,” kids can listen to the Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies album over and over… without driving you up a wall.
After listening through just one time, the Toddler announced that she likes “God Made Me” the best, and I was thrilled to see that they have a video to go with it on the Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies YouTube Channel– check it out, and be prepared to be humming the tune the rest of the day:
In their own words:
Slugs & Bugs is for kids and parents. Our children need to learn that life with Jesus is a life of joy and celebration, and we parents need to remember that very same thing. Slugs & Bugs aims to provide a context for parents and kids to learn and remember together the joy of life in Christ, while also having a super-great time with silly songs about grizzly bears that don't wear underwear.
I enjoy listening to Slugs & Bugs as much as the girls do. I would love to see these guys in person and hope that one of these days they will make it down here to Northwest Florida. Until then the Toddler will keep jamming their tunes on her little iPod.
You can get all of the Slugs & Bugs Lullabies in an immediate download to add to your iPod or as a physical cd by shopping their online store. They even have Slugs & Bugs Tshirts and a Christmas album – which I have mentioned to Santa about 😉
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies album for review. No other compensation was offered and all of the opinions are 100% my own.
