Why MoscatoMom Has The Best Fans Ever

By Moscato Mom 1 Comment

So I have a confession - I have really let the MoscatoMom Facebook Page go. I am pissed about the algorithm and how I have to badger my fans to get them to see anything - and frankly, I would much rather hang out with y'all on Instagram anyway.

While I was gone for Brandcation I did not post one single thing... not one.  In a whole week. So all of the activity there has been stuff that has autoposted when a new blog post goes live. Today however I was sitting at the bus stop and my friend sent me an image that I decided to share.  This is what happened:

Now, in just the time it has taken me to edit that image and write this post, I am up another 150 in reach.

This clearly means I have the best fans ever - and I am in good company - because we all know what is really important.

So I just want to give a big high hive to the best fans ever - and apologize for not posting more on my Facebook Fan Page.  I promise to do better... especially now that I can clearly see what you want more of...

Oh, and just so you can see it again, here is the picture, because yeah, it deserves to be posted again:

Sami Says - Volume 2

By Moscato Mom 4 Comments

The last 24 hours we have had a considerable amount of rain - the tail end of the Tropical Storm Andrea which landed in the Big Bend part of Florida, but left its little wet bands to beat on Northwest Florida for a few days.  Granted, we needed the rain, but there was one point today where I called my neighbor to tell her we should have bought that Paddle Board last Summer.

Anyways, thankfully I work from home and school is out, so the girls and I have pretty much hunkered down here and enjoyed the rain... which has made for some pretty comical Sami Says moments.  My favorite one came this morning during a particularly bad downpour.

Cable Dish

Sami:  Mom, the TV in the living room isnt working.

Me: (looking out the sliding door at the rain) Maybe the cable is out with all of the rain.

Sami: Maybe there is water in the dish.

Me: What dish?

Sami: You know - the cable dish.

Me: Samantha... cable doesnt need a dish,  satellite requires a dish, but we have cable, which is run through lines in the ground.

Sami: Ohhhh... yeah, I always wondered where our dish was....

*sigh*

"Baby's" First Hair Cut

"Baby's" First Hair Cut

Ok, she isn't a baby.

She really isn't even a toddler anymore like I have always called her on this blog.

If you ask her, she will tell you... she is "medium."

But she is MY baby.

In Preschool last year Taylor took scissors to her hair.  Not much, but one lock of curls that was "in her face" she snipped right off.  (I wish her father would learn to fix her hair already) The teacher said as soon as she did it, she began to cry, realizing she could not just "glue it back on."   I promised her that when she was in Kindergarten, I would take her to the salon to get it cut.   While we were in Texas she remembered this promise.

I was so afraid that when we cut it, she was going to lose all of her curls.   The Tween and I have such pencil straight hair, I love that she has curls!   They do not show as much here since we had her hair in a ponytail all day, but she can curl up like Shirley Temple.  She said she didn't care, and wanted it cut.  I had after all made a promise.

The lady did fantastic and Taylor stayed still the entire cut. She even asked if she could have "bangs" so her hair "would always be fixed."  What a little Diva I have.

In total she cut about 5 inches off.  She then layered it and cut in around her face.  It took a little while for her to get the hang of smoothing her bangs down and not brushing them to the side, but we absolutely love it!

Guess this means I really don't have any babies anymore....

Oh yeah... and after we got it wet one time, her curls came back.... big time.

Simple Chicken Salad

By Moscato Mom 2 Comments

I just made THE most simple - delicious - Chicken Salad ever!  I am so impressed, I just have to share!  This is my "whatever was in the fridge that doesn't require cooking" Chicken Salad:

  • Canned Swanson Chicken (which I scored today BOGO at Winn Dixie)
  • Small Green Apple
  • Sliced almonds
  • Kraft Mayo
  • Worcestershire  Sauce

Drain the chicken and shred up really good with a fork.  Cut green apple into teeny tiny little pieces.  Add about 1/4 cup of sliced almonds, 2 tablespoons of Mayo, and a few drops of Worcestershire Sauce and mix together!

Goes great on toast or alone with a handful of chips!  Even the girls love it!
