If you have been around MoscatoMom for long, you may know that Mike and I have been engaged for a llloooonnnggggg time… but every time someone asked “when’s the wedding” we would just look at each other and shrug. It became a joke that it took us five years to get engaged, we should spend another five years just being engaged. However, I think we both got tired of waiting, and I am super excited to announce that we have officially picked a date. Actually, we set it a few weeks ago, but I have been so busy securing the venue, organizing the reception, and of course – putting together the Bachelorette Bash a few weeks before. I looked around for Beach Themed Save The Date Cards but could not find what I wanted, so I decided to get creative… and I have to say I absolutely love them.
I will have the tutorial for how I did these beauties up soon, but for now, I just wanted to share that we have officially – OFFICIALLY – picked a date to finally get married. I will #SayYesToTheKmetz in a private ceremony on the water mid-day on Saturday, October 7, 2017 and then we will head off to one of our favorite places for a huge reception to celebrate with all of our friends and family. The actual ceremony will be about the only thing that is “traditional” – and he and I both say that with a smirk, so who knows how that will actually turn out – but we have some great ideas for how we are going to make this entire day absolutely, unequivocally US. Even though the ceremony will be small, we expect the Reception to be quite a bash – and we would not want it any other way.
I am not going to spill the beans on all that we have planned – and I promise not to inundate the blog with wedding talk – but I do look forward to sharing the entire process of planning this long awaited shindig while still keeping some things a surprise for the Big Day. So far we have our date, the venues, and the wedding party set – Samantha will be my Maid of Honor while Midge is Mike’s “Best Friend” – and we will be bringing all of our favorite things into what we know – no matter what – will be the best day of our lives. The next few months will be filled with florists, shopping for a wedding dress, DIY wedding favors, cake tastings and more! We could NOT be more excited.
Countdown… 3 months and 21 days…
