There are officially three days left in this school year, and I could NOT be more excited. Mike and I have spent weeks planning a fun filled Summer Vacation, full of trips and excursions with and without the girls. Hey, why work from home if you cant thoroughly enjoy your time off, right?
Our trips include everything from a water park to sports games to visiting old Historic locations... and almost all of them are in Alabama. Now, I know most people do not think of Alabama as a "Prime Vacation Destination," but think again. Alabama offers something for everyone and just might be The South's Best Kept Secret.
Beauty, history and adventure all come together in Alabama, a state rich in everything from world-class golf to white-sand beaches. It’s a place where each meal is a celebration, each town has a story and each day brings new discoveries you’ll always remember.
Recently I discovered something new about Mike. He is terrified of flying. When we flew to Las Vegas this year I thought he was just grouchy from lack of sleep. Turns out there are few things he hates more than flying, and he has an irrational fear of something happening to the plane. I, too, am not a huge fan of flying so we decided to plan all of our events within driving distance. The 2013 Alabama Vacation Guide and Calendar came in handy for our planning - mapping out everything from where to eat, to where to stay - and of course what do do when you get there. You can get your own Alabama Vacation Guide here, plus download cool apps that will help you make your Alabama Vacation a breeze.
One thing that really impressed me in the Free Vacation Guide was the amount of SPAS Alabama has. When I think of Alabama I think of great food, great music... I didnt even consider great pampering. From the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa or to Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa in Point Clear, the state of Alabama offers some amazing spa locations. I can not think of a better day than playing a round of golf together (read: Mike golfs while I get a tan) followed by a couples massage. And best of all - we can win the whole trip - FREE.
People who love vacation and want a little TLC can enter for a chance to win luxury Alabama resort packages along the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail with the Alabama Road Trip Giveaway (www.Facebook.com/
AlabamaTravel or www.RoadTripGiveaway.com). The giveaway is for seven exclusive packages each valued at around $4,000 for up to four guests each including two-night luxury accommodations and loads of extras, like spa and golf, sponsored by the Alabama Tourism Department and the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Resort Collection.
I'm excited to be offering one of my readers their own "Spa at Home" which includes a scented candle, body wash, body ice cream, a Sweet Home Alabama vacation guide and The Trail guide for golf along the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail so you can relax and unwind while you plan your Alabama Vacation. And of course, be sure to enter to win a free vacation in the Road Trip Getaway.
And who knows - maybe we will be at the same place at the same time! Pedicures and Moscato anyone?
