Whether you are a part of the Resistance or First Order, you can enjoy the land of Batuu at Walt Disney World’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
Last month I had the pleasure of getting to visit Walt Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge as part of the Permission to Hustle Retreat. Now, I am not the huge Star Wars fan in my household - my husband was painfully jealous I got to go - but one step into Batuu made me fall in love. (Even if it was long before sunrise)
You are greeted by dozens of new friends wishing you “Bright Suns, Travelers” as you walk past Oga’s Cantina to the Millennium Falcon where you can board the new ride - Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Once inside you are assigned your task by Hondo Ohnaka - to board the Millennium Falcon, travel at light speed to another planet where you must smuggle out some precious cargo, and then return to Batuu to collect your reward. Each person in your six-part crew has their very own task to make sure to the mission is a success.
I will admit... it felt a bit more like a live-action video game than a ride, and as a “gunner” I felt some pressure to out-shoot my partner. I was very happy that we had great pilots - that was a bumpy ride!
After the ride we were able to take a few quick photos before heading to Oga’s Cantina for a snack and a drink. Everyone at the Cantina loved my “Han Shot First” shirt! You can grab your shirt here.
Oga’s Cantina has a variety of delicious choices to choose from - including a delicious hot latte! The Batuu Bits were also delicious.
We only had a few minutes left to explore Batuu, but I did manage to grab a couple of these...
And of course, we hunted down some Blue Milk! Did you know that Blue Milk is dairy-free? In fact, both Blue Milk and Green Milk are vegan - made with a blend of rice milk and coconut milk... and very tasty.
I was enjoying it a little too much, though, and was told my this gentleman to move along.
We had a blast during the short time we were there before heading off to learning sessions, and I can not wait to return with my family!
